I highly recommend this model radio, just replaced it with a new FT7800R after 6 years without a mobile unit. Radio is in good shape. But the voice output is to low. Power output is good, but folks say I sound like I am in the basement. Removed the little disk in the mic and replaced the RJ-45 but still low output. Seems to come and go. Any ideas on this issue. Using a mh-27 mic. Other wise seems like a good little radio. Now using a FT-2800 and love it. But would like to fix the low voice issue.

El micr ofono sostenido por el vastago ajustable y colocado convenientem ente, captar a la voz del operador, que automa ticamen te acti va el tr ansmisor y con ello la radiacion de sus palabra s. Para retornar a la posicion de recepc ion bas ta con deja r de habla r INSTALACION DE LA UNIDAD DE TONOS SUBAU DIBLES FTS-17.Des monte la funda ri gida o flex ible si es utilizada y desmonte el paquete de baterias. Proceda en l a form a siguiente: (1) Desmonte los cuatro tornillos que fijan la placa de sujeccion del paquete de bateri as al transceptor y cuidadosamente desm onte la citad a placa. (2) Conecte la clavija visible a la Unidad FTS-17, vease dibujo en la pagina anterior.

(4) Para abrir las cajas de los paquetes de pilas secas FBA-9 o FBA-10, colocar ambos pu lgare s de s us manos sobre la tapa d e la caj a y suavemente separar ambas partes. Mont ar seis pilas, p ero presta ndo mucha atencion a la polaridad indivi dual de cada pila segun esta indi cado en la c aja. Siempre se h an de sustituir las seis pila s. T res indicadores d e tipo LED muestran los tiempos transcurridos tras 1, 3 o 5 horas. Repita estas cuatro pulsaciones para intercalarlo nuevamente, le aconse jamos que lo manteng a en activo mientras aprende las fun ciones de las teclas. La caracteristica de blo queo del teclado puede ser modificada, si se quiere, a fin de perm itir la transmision cuando el tec lado este bloqueado. Para hacerlo, c ompr uebe q ue el bloque o esta inac tivo, esta en OFF, se ap aga e l tr ansce ptor OFF, e ntonces se pres iona y mantiene pul sada la tec la LOCK(6) m ientra s se enciende de nuevo el trans ceptor pasandol e a ON.Ve r recuadro en la pagina siguient e. El FT-411 dispon e de dos VFOs denominados A y B, cualquiera de ellos puede ser utilizado con todos los procedimientos descritos en este Manual. Se pu ede cam biar de VEO con solo p ulsar U FO en cualqui er momento, lo qu e nos permit e ser- virnos de el como de la memoria 50. Hay diversas fo rmas d e sintonizar el FT-411: En s altos-, de cana l se lec cion able s o pasos de 1 MHz con las teclas en punta de fl echa o mediante el DIA L y por entrada direct a de frecu encias mediante el teclado. Se utiliza el mando DIAL para sintoniz ar la frecuencia visualizada po r el VFO e n e l can al c orr iente y saltos fijados. Si se esta utiliz ando pasos d e 5 o 10 kHz introduz ca solo cu atro digito s. En otra forma just o con tres dig itos vale. Las entradas parciales pu eden ser can celadas con la tecl a VFO. La sintonizacion por pasos esta preajust ada en fabri ca a 5 k hz (version A) o de 25 kHz (versio n B). Una v ez qu e se ha visu aliza-d o el p aso deseado, se vu elve a pr esionar STEP(7 ) y por si mi smo re torna a visualiz ar la frecuencia VFO. Liberaremos al interruptor PTT a fin de r etornar al estado de recep cion.Si en la z ona en que vive dispone de dos repetidores con desplaz amientos no nor mali zado s, se pu ede prog ramar f rec uenc ias sepa rada s de transmision y de recep cion y tenerlas en memoria, segun se des cribe posteri ormente.

Sin emb argo, si la mayor parte de los repeti dores qu e utiliza tienen un des plazami ento difere nte al de los 600 k H z, puede re prog rama r el des pla zamie nto no rma liza do en vez de los otros, mediante el uso del pulsador RPT y de ARS. Cualquier desplaza miento de repetidor debe ser multiplo de 50 kH z. Si utiliza el teclado par a introducir el nue vo desplazamiento, comenzara con las dec enas de MHz, o sea que si el nuevo desplaz amiento es menor de 1 M H z, debe r a i ntr od uci r p ri me ro do s ce ros seguido de las centenas y luego las decenas de l as ci fr as de k H z. P or eje mp lo, s e p ul sa n 0060 para seleccionar un desplaz a-miento de 600 k H z, se supone siempre qu e la cifr a de Hz es cero y por eso no se introduce.Un num ero d e Mem ori a apar ece p arpad eante en el r e c u ad r o s o m b r e a d o d e l a e s q ui n a s u p e r i o r izquierda de la pantalla. (3) Dentro de los cinco se gundos siguientes al paso (2) se usa el mando D IAL, o la s tec las e n pu nta de flecha a fi n de selec ciona r la frecu enci a para su al mac enamiento en Memor ia. Cuando se alma cenan m emorias p artidas o desplaz adas, se tie ne la ele ccion de usar el metodo de desplazamiento de Repe tidor descrito anterior mente, el de almacena r frec uencias s epar adas de transmision y recepcion. Po r cualquie ra de estos dos metodos el resultad o de funcionamiento sera el mismo, except o que el almacenamiento de una frecuencia separada, se apli ca solo a una memoria, mie ntr a s qu e e l m eto do d e de spl a zam ien to se a p lic a a tod as, c ua nd o se ha presionado el pulsador RPT. Si conoce el numero de la memoria, solo tie ne que in trod uci rlo medi ant e e l te cla do y e nton ces pre sionar MR. Para este metodo la memoria L es la 47 y la memoria U es la 48. Si no esta seguro del numero de la memoria, s e presiona MR a fin de seleccionar, modo Memoria.

Sujete el paquete d e bat erias al transcept or, mont e la funda si l a tenia y compru ebe el fun cionam iento seg un se de scri be ma s adelante en la pag 22. FUNCIONAM IENTO. Este Capitulo describe las diversas f unciones del transceptor en forma detallada. Una vez estudiadas es tas des crip cio nes y a pren dida s, tie ne la CART A de Referencias Rapidas, para consultarla en caso de dudas.Si utiliza b aterias recarga bles N I-Cd como se ha descrito en las pa ginas 8 y 9. Si usa paquete s de pilas secas, hagalo como se i nd ic a en la p agi na 7 p ar a F BA -9 y F BA- 10. Se conecta la antena de goma fle xible YHA-16 median te su conector en la tapa superior d el tran scepto r. Nu nca h acer f unc ionar al tran scep tor si tener conectada al mismo una antena. Es aconsejable tenerse re pasado el Capitulo de CONTROL ES Y CONECTORE S, a fin de tener may or seguridad en las m isiones de dich os elementos. E specialmente el punto (6) de las p ags 5 y 6, en el que se describe la ter minolo gia utilizada e n rel aci o n co n l as tecl as. Excepto en casos esp ecia les menciona dos posterio rmente, l as teclas fun cion an durante l a transmis ion como un generador de tono DTMF(Doble Ton o Multi Frecuencia).Si hay alguna senal audible, se g ira el selector DIAL del Panel Superior hasta llegar a un canal donde solo se escuche ruido de fondo. Se gira hacia d erechas l entament e el mando del sil enciado r SQL hasta el punto en que el ruido de ja d e e scuc har se y se apag ue l a lu z de l pilo to LE D. Si seguimos girando mas el mando SQL hacia derechas, la sensibi lidad del receptor a las senales debiles s e reduce. Sin embargo, si ahora s e capt a una s enal fuert e co n la i nt en si da d suficiente, s e abrira el sil enciador, se escuchar a la se nal y el pi loto LED volvera a lucir en color VERDE.

Notese que mi entras s e recibe, u no o mas d e los se gmentos del indi cador grafi co d e b a rr as pueden surgir del fondo de la pantalla indicando la intensidad de la se nal en la fre cue ncia de sin ton ia. E sta ind icac ion no est a a fec tada po r el ajuste del silenciador, por lo que podemos per cib ir q ue ha y s en al es q ue es tan siendo silen ciadas. Si percibe que a parecen mas de un a o dos segmentos a unque p ermanez ca cerrad o el silen ciador, ens a ye a reduci r la po sicion del mando, si desea escuch ar esas senal es que parecen debiles. En la version USA, el int erruptor de vi gilancia, situada just amente por en- cima del inter ruptor PTT, le permite comprobar la a ctividad del canal, po r de-bajo del n ivel ajustado con el sil enc iad or; sol o co n pr esion ar el puls ador M onitor abrira al silenciador p ermitiendo la escucha. En la version para Europa y por encima del interruptor BURST (co rrespondiente a l M on it or e n la version USA, y que sirve para enviar un impuls o de 1750 Hz) hay u n p ulsa dor que ilu mina la pantalla y el teclado y que puede utilizarse en caso neces ar io.Si n o se escuc ha un bii p cu ando s e pr esi ona una tec la, o bi en e l volu men a justado es demasiado bajo, o no fue aceptada la presion so bre l a t ecl a. Du r ant e la transmisio n, los tonos de las teclas son pa res de tonos DTM F, que a su ve z son los transmitidos. Si dentr o de un int ervalo de tres s egundos no se pres iona al guna tecla, tras haber pulsado Cuando no ha y bloqueo del teclado, los to nos produ cidos por las te clas con punta de fl echa s on ca mbia dos segu n la dir eccio n de l a fle cha; alg una s te clas suena dos veces en ciertas condi ciones. Pue de es pera r que el fun ci ona mie nto de l te cla do se har a m as fac il a m ed ida que lo utilice y se acostumbre a los tonos asociados con cada tecla y cada funcion.

Un numero o letra se vis ualiz a en la parte sup erior iz quierda de p antalla, y entonces s e usa el mand o DIAL, o las tecl as en p unta de fle cha a fi n de s elecci onar l a memori a d eseada. C omo es natur al, l as memo rias va- cantes no se visualizan. Puede resintonizar una memoria seleccion ada pulsando MR: un sub-ra yado de puntos (. )aparece por debajo de l recuadro del cana l en la parte super ior izquierda, y puede sintonizar la fr ecuencia de la memoria visualiza da en la misma forma que se ha descrito par a los VFOs. Si desea almac enar los nuevos ajustes en la memoria corr iente o en otra, solo tiene que seguir los puntos del ( 2) a l (4) de la pag ina an ter ior: El funci ona mie nto qued ara sobre la me moria. Si desea copi ar los d atos de memo ria a un VEO, sobr e esc ribiendo los vi ejos d atos, puede hace rlo mientras este e n activa la ca racteristica de re sintonizar memoria: So lo pr esion ar. Si no desea conserva r sus cambios en memo ria, bas ta con presionar solo la t e cl a M R p a ra ret o rn ar a los datos de memoria or iginal.Sin emb argo, si reg ularm ente se desp laza de una zona a otra, pued e qu e n o necesit e utilizar las mismas memori as todo el tiempo, o que des ee ca mbiar sus memorias de trab ajo sin ten er que volverlas a escribir de un cuadernillo de notas. Esto se puede hacer enm ascarando determi nadas m emo rias en fo rma qu e qu eden completamente esc ondidas para el trab ajo y reclamandol as solo cuando d ese em os u tilizarlas. Entonces presion e la tecla MR. Esto produce que se visualice la m emoria 1 y que la memoria se leccionad a previamente n o sea posible selec cionarla manualmente, o por exploracion, como se d escribe posteriormente. Ten gase presente que no se pu ede esconder la memoria 1. EXPLORACION. Antes de iniciar la exploracion c ompruebe que el mando del silen ciador SQ L, esta ajustado p ara silenciar el ruido de fondo en un canal limpio.

L a exploracion se activa y desactiva mediante las teclas en punta de fl echa. Bast a con p resiona r y mante ner pulsada una d e esas dos teclas po r mas de medio segundo, para que comience la explora cion. Si el transceptor se encuent ra en modo VFO, o en el canal CALL, sera ex plorad a toda la ban da. Si estuvi ese en mod o Memori a s ol o s er an ex p lo ra das l as memorias. La explora cion se detie ne y el punto d ecim al parpad ea, siemp re que s e detect a una sen al con intensidad sufi ciente p ara abri r el silen ciador. Disp one de dos modos de rea nudar la e xploracion: modo Pausa, en que el explorador descansa mientras l a intensidad de l a portadora recibida m antiene ab ierto al silenc iador, o el m odo de los 5 segundos en el que el ex plorador descansa durant e 5 segundos y alcanzados estos reanuda la exploracion, ha ya o no senal pres ente. Se puede detener la ex ploracion manualmente pres ionando el interruptor PTT, NOTA: La exploracion comprueba unos 14 canales por se gundo. Para impedir que este p roceso sea cortado por el dispositivo ahorrador de ener gia, el citado dispositivo queda automaticamente suspendido de funcionamiento durante la funcion de exploracion, con lo que ha y algun incremento en el consumo de bateria.Un su b-ra yado de puntos ap arecer a por deba jo de l rec uadro del n umer o de me mor ia, en el lado superi or izquierdo de pantalla. Para can celar el funcion amiento PMS, se deti ene la explora cion, si fuese n ecesario medi ant e DIAL, teclas en punta d e flech a, o interr uptor PTT y se presiona l a tecl a MR par a retorna r al funcio namient o co rrie nte de memo ria, o la tecla VFO para hacerlo al modo VFO. C uando apare ce una sen al sob re la m em ori a p ri ori ta ria du ran te la recepcion, el funcionamiento del transceptor se desplazara automaticamente a dicha memoria, durante todo el tiempo en que se este recibiendo u na po rta dora.

Si dur ante las pausas se transmite sobre la memoria prior itaria, la vigila nc ia prior it ar ia se cancel a y puede continu ar en funcionami ento sobr e dicha m em o ri a pr io ri t ar ia. El silenciador d ebe ser previ amente ajust ado y la frecuenci a a se r vigilada DE BE ser alma cenad a en la memoria 1, so lo s i se c ont inua com unic ando en o tra de las memori as durante la vi gilancia prioritaria. Una 'P' aparec era en la ve ntana de memoria en la esquina superi or izquie rda de la pantalla y alr ededor de cada cin co segundos la frecuenci a visu aliz ada se cam biara br evement e por la fre cuenci a priori taria, mi entras el r ecepto r co mpr ueba si existe alguna senal. En tanto que r ro apar ezca alguna sen al en l a memori a priori taria qu e abra al sil enciado r, pued e sintonizar, explorar, tra nsmitir y recibir sobre e l VFO, o sobre otras memorias. Si aparec e una estacion con la que des ea comuni car sob re l a memoria pri oritaria, s e presiona mom entane amente el int erruptor PTT mie nt ras este recibiendo dicha senal, a fin de detener la comp robacion prioritaria. Por otra pa rte, cuando un a sen al apa rece sob re la m emori a prio ritari a, la comproba cion hara un a paus a y la cifr a de cima l c omen zara a pa rpa dea r; en tonc es la vigilancia prioritaria s e reanudara, se gun se haya ajustado el modo de re anudar la explorac ion tras una pa usa de 5 segundos o tras de saparec er la po rta dora. Pa ra cance lar manualmente la vigilancia prioritaria, se presiona bien la tecla MR o la de VFO. NOTA: Sepa que puede utilizar cualquier otra memoria como canal priorit ario por el proc edimie nto descrito mas a rriba cuando trab aj e en m odo VFO, durante la vigilancia prioritar ia. VIGILANC IA PRIORITAR IA MULTICANA L. La funcion de la vig ilancia prioritaria descrita mas arriba puede ser utilizada para una comprobacion secuenc ial sobre multiples cana les de memoria.

Entonces activar la exploracion de dichas memorias presionando una tecla en punta de flech a durante medio segundo mientras estemos en modo VFO. Ca da vez el sistem a p riorit ario comp rueb a una m emori a, sera u na cu ya frecuenci a s ea mas al ta o m as baja que aquella comprobada previ amente. El FT-411 puede utilizar se para vi gilancia o escucha silenciosa en canales ocupa dos y tr ansmitir ton os CTCSS, c uando tene mos instalada la Unida d opciona l FTS- 17 de tonos s ubaudibles. Al trans mitir la fun ci on co di fi ca do ra (E NC o de), sup erpone un tono subaudibl e (una fr ecu encia demasiad o baja par a ser escuchada) sobre la portadora transmitida, mientras que la funcion decodificadora (DECode) v igi la l as senales de a udio recibidas a traves de un filtro estrecho e n las mismas fr ecuencias subaudibles, manteniendo el silencia dor cer rado hasta que se rec ibe un to no e mpare jad o. Si l a ca racte ris tica d e 'campani lla d e ll amad a ' se activa, se produ cira una sonido en el altavoz a modo de timbre de aviso y una pequena imagen de cam pana parp adeara por en cima las decenas d e MHz en la panta lla, asi puede percibir que tie ne una ll amada si estuvi ese ocu pado en otr a cos a. Las Instruccion es de montaje de la Un ida d op cion al FTS- 17 se enc uent ran en la pa gina 10 de este Manual. La fr ecuencia del tono sera visu alizada en Hz. P ara c ambiar l a frecuenci a del t ono se gira DIAL o se pulsa una tecla, en punta de flecha, hasta que p antalla mu estre la f recuenci a del tono que ne cesi tam os; s i solo se visualiza 88.5, es que l a Unidad FTS-17 no esta instalada. Tambien, se visualiza a la derecha una letra minuscula 'b' si esta activado el avisador del teclado: DE BE ESTAR ACTIVADO si la ' campanilla de aviso' ha de sonar cuan-do se recib a un a l la mad a en tonos subaudibles CTCSS. Esta imagen parpadeara una v ez que se recibe una llam ada. Ahora solo una frecuenc ia de ton o subaudible abrira al silenciador.

Este circuito p ermite al t ransceptor vi gilar l a activ idad de una fre cuencia, con un consumo de un 40 0% menos de la requer ida mediante una escuc ha normal con silenciador e n recepcio n. Ello se co nsigue retirando la en ergia elect rica de to dos los circuit os ex cepto un cro nometro y l a pantall a, dur ante in terv alos de tiempo pro gramabl es. Entre dichos inter valos, el recepto r funciona solo 30 milisegundos p ara com prob ar si exist e act ivid ad en la fr ecue ncia visua liza da en pantalla. Cuando apare ce una sen al, el receptor fu nciona n ormalmente. Sin emb argo, si la portado ra desap arece por mas de tres se gundos, la funcion economizad ora con tinua automaticame nte. Si se ci erra el int errup tor PTT e n cu al quie r m ome nto durante la funcion economizadora, el transmisor se activa como no rm al me nt e lo ef ectua. Si no ap are ce al guna estacion tr as abrir el int errupto r PTT durant e l os t r es segundos siguiente, el economizador de ener gia continua su ahorro.
